Piano, Antique & Specialty Item Moving

Some pieces are heavy, irreplaceable or both. If you’re nervous about Grandma’s china hutch or the family piano, that’s completely understandable. We plan for them with the right equipment, extra padding, and trained professionals that have worked with us for years.

Movers carefully lowering a grand piano onto a piano board

Upright pianos

Uprights are top-heavy and surprisingly heavy. Our movers pad and strap them, move them on a dolly, and take extra care on stairs, thresholds and ramps.

Grand & baby grand pianos

We remove the legs and lyre, pad the case and move the piano on its side on a padded piano board, then reassemble it in its new room.

Antiques, art & heirlooms

Antique furniture, fine art, mirrors and family heirlooms get extra wrapping and corner protection, and custom crates for artwork on request. Tell us about your most delicate pieces up front so we can plan time and materials for them.

Heavy & awkward items

Gun safes, grandfather clocks, treadmills and other gym equipment, large appliances and oversized furniture all need planning. Our trucks have lift gates, which makes heavy pieces safer to load. Let GinaBot or the office know what you have, roughly how big it is, and where it sits.

Frequently asked questions

Do you move baby grand pianos?

Yes. Grand and baby grand pianos are moved on a padded piano board with the legs and lyre removed and the lid secured. Upright pianos are padded, strapped and moved on a dolly.

Can you move a gun safe?

Tell us the make, approximate size and weight, and where it sits (garage, upstairs, on carpet) so the office can decide whether we’re the right fit and how to plan it. Safes need to be emptied and left open on moving day.

Should I tune my piano after the move?

Yes. Let it settle in its new room for a couple of weeks, then have it tuned. Changes in temperature and humidity affect tuning more than the move itself.
